Take a Villa Vacation

4 Reasons for a Villa Vacation

Many of us have been spending more time at home during the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) global pandemic. As regions continue to re-open, it’s only natural to want to travel again.

“We’re taking health safety concerns with the utmost seriousness. We want you to feel confident about making travel plans again,” said Cliff Delorey, executive vice president and chief resort experience officer at MVW.

A villa* vacation offers the best of both worlds. You can enjoy relaxing residential-style accommodations — located in beautiful natural destinations — all with next-level standards for cleaning, sanitization and social distancing.

Here are Delorey’s top four reasons a villa vacation allows you to vacation with confidence during your post-pandemic travels:

Your Villa Sanctuary

One of the pleasures of driving to a vacation villa is being able to bring whatever will fit in the trunk, from that jumbo box of cereal to all your family’s favorite games and toys.

“Inside your villa, you’ll find plenty of space to spread out and unwind together,” Delorey said.

Our comfortable vacation club villas feature one, two and three bedrooms, some of which can sleep up to 12 — and offer the key conveniences of home.

A villa also allows you to control your environment. You can prepare your own meals in the fully equipped kitchen, if you choose. You can also get takeout and eat at the family-sized table — or outside on your private balcony, which is included in most villas. And after a day exploring the great outdoors, you can come home and relax in the living room. In many cases, a high-end pull-out sofa offers additional sleeping capacity, so everyone can stay together.

Relaxing Resort Spaces

“We also want you to feel comfortable enjoying the resort outside your villa door. Designed with vacationers in mind, our shared spaces offer lots of happy places for you and your group to relax together,” Delorey said.

So whether you’re lounging by the pool or toasting around a fire pit, you’ll be safely spaced from others with the new social distancing measures in place. You’ll also find hand sanitizer stations throughout public areas, including in lobbies and outside elevators, to help you and yours stay healthy.

The Best Locations Near the Great Outdoors

You may have felt a renewed desire to connect with nature lately, for relaxation and recreation. Marriott Vacation Club® villas are available for ownership or one-time rental.

This provides you the flexibility to stay in a destination near beaches, mountains or the desert. Fresh-air activities are well-suited to the new normal, and your villa gives you access to expansive outdoor amenities, such as walking paths, hiking trails, bike paths, golf, tennis, and the coastline.

“With a villa stay, you may enjoy a complete vacation within driving distance or a short flight from home,” Delorey said.

How Clean? Next-Level Clean

Cleaning is more important than ever. For nearly a century, the Marriott® brand has demonstrated its leadership in the hospitality business.

“MVW’s consistent sanitization standards and rigorous staff training have always earned us high guest satisfaction scores when it comes to the cleanliness of our properties. But in this challenging new era, we’ve elevated our health safety protocols even higher,” Delorey said.

Before check-in, each villa undergoes a robust cleaning between guests. Our housekeeping staff has received additional training in the use of hospital-grade disinfectants.

All associates are currently required to wear face coverings, as well as undergo health screenings before each shift. At check-in desks, a plexiglass shield adds additional protection. Marriott Vacation Club continues to pursue the latest technologies to keep guests and staff as comfortable as possible, including keyless entries for the doors.

The smallest details mean the most. You can expect wrapped toilet paper and paper towels, and housekeepers will skip the “mid-week tidy.” Under current procedures, housekeeping will not enter your villa during your stay. You will receive a set of sanitizing wipes to use if you feel like touching up the space. Of course, if you need additional towels or linens, you can request contactless drop off at any time.
