Go Outdoors on Singer Island

Get Some Sun on Singer Island

Singer Island, a peninsula that’s part of Riviera Beach, Florida, is one of the best spots in the state to soak up the sun. Here’s a sampling of the great ways to enjoy the outdoors on Singer Island, all within easy access of both Marriott’s Ocean Pointe and Marriott’s Oceana Palms.

Go Snorkeling and Diving

Singer Island’s turquoise waterways teem with colorful sea life, making them a great place to go snorkeling or scuba diving. There are healthy coral reefs just offshore, diving spots in the area that are accessible by boat, and several nearby options for protected shallow-water snorkeling.

Phil Foster Park, located beneath the Blue Heron Bridge that connects Singer Island to the mainland, is an ideal snorkeling spot. The beach park is near the inlet linking the Intracoastal Waterway to the Atlantic Ocean, so its crystal-clear waters contain diverse marine life. While snorkeling the underwater sculpture trail, visitors can expect to see tropical fish, rays, starfish, sea turtles, and manatees. Across a small channel sits Peanut Island, another popular spot to snorkel that’s accessible by boat or ferry.

For those interested in the thrill of the hunt — in an environment as beautiful as it is exciting — sportfishing is the way to go. And Singer Island is the perfect place to give it a try. This stretch of coastline sits between Stuart, considered the “sailfish capital of the world,” and Islamorada in the Florida Keys, considered the “sportfishing capital of the world.” As a result, this section of Florida’s southeastern coast attracts some of the ocean’s biggest fish, prime for the catching.

Deep-sea fishing charters, captained by knowledgeable local fishermen, will guide you straight to the prize fish — like sailfish, swordfish, and tarpon — or the fresh catch, which some local restaurants will prepare for you. When it comes to mahi-mahi, grouper, or snapper, there’s nothing quite as fresh as reeling in your own catch and enjoying it just hours later. To experience all that Singer Island offers, Owners can reserve private boating tours through Marriott Vacation Club® Activities Powered by PlacePass.

Hit the Beach

It wouldn’t be a trip to the Sunshine State without time spent relaxing on the beach.

Visitors and locals come from miles away to enjoy Singer Island’s beautiful beaches, but those staying on the island have the easiest access. Resorts like Marriott’s Ocean Pointe and Marriott’s Oceana Palms are beachfront, located directly on glimmering shores lapped by the Atlantic Ocean. With the beach mere steps away, digging your toes into the sand is simply part of the everyday routine on Singer Island.

Where to Stay

Marriott’s Ocean Pointe and Marriott’s Oceana Palms are located directly on the beach at the southeast tip of intercoastal Singer Island, east of West Palm Beach.
