Take a Road Trip

Let the Road Take You Places

It’s time to get back on the road — and back on vacation. If you prefer to skip the airport experience, but still want to travel, consider a drive-to destination. You’ll enjoy more flexibility in your travel plans: You can stop to take in sights along the way, and also take your preferred route at a time that works best for you and your family.

As a Marriott Vacation Club® Owner, you can save up to 35% off Avis® and up to 30% off Budget® car rental base rates*. Depending on your Owner Benefit Level, you may also be eligible for additional Avis benefits, including up to 10% off Select Series vehicles, discounted SiriusXM® at $4.99 per day and a complimentary additional driver.

Let’s get to planning your next vacation:

If you want to travel along the Atlantic Coast, you may enjoy a getaway to Marriott’s Ocean Point. While en route to this Palm Beach Shores resort, you can enjoy beaches, state parks and landmarks along the way.

If you seek adventure, map out a few stops to Florida’s state parks. At the St. Lucie Inlet Preserve State Park on the northern end of Jupiter, you’ll find snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing and plenty of wildlife. The nearby Seabranch Preserve State Park is another off-the-beaten path option for exploration with four miles of trails. As you drive further South, you’ll also find Johnathan Dickinson State Park, a historic site featuring the Loxahatchee River, mangroves and river swamps ideal for kayaking and hiking.

While Daytona Beach and Vero Beach are popular spots for tourists, you can embark on a journey to hidden gem beaches on the way to your resort. Just north of St. Augustine, you’ll find Vilano Beach on the Matanzas Inlet. This secluded spot is known for its breaking surf waves and laid-back vibe. Nearby, you’ll also find the Castle Otttis landmark. If your adventures find you near Orlando, make a stop at Cocoa Beach or Canaveral National Seashore to spend time in the sand. And instead of setting up a towel and umbrella at Vero Beach, consider instead a day at the Sebastian Inlet, known for its fishing pier and dune-backed, undeveloped beach.

Marriott’s Ocean Pointe sits oceanfront on Singer Island, giving you a vantage point from which to explore all the area has to offer. Here, you’ll find championship golf courses, nearby shopping and 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom villas to fit the entire family.

Stunning mountain vistas and coastal roads set the scene for a fall road trip to Marriott’s Newport Coast® Villas.

On your way to the resort, make a few stops for adventure. Depending upon which way you’re traveling from, you’ll have access to sprawling state parks like Joshua Tree National Park near Palm Desert or Crystal Cove State Park near the coast. Joshua Tree offers views of rugged rock formations and spots to catch birds-eye view of the Coachella Valley, while Crystal Cove showcases canyons and a historic district of beach houses.

As you get closer to your destination, consider a stop at Balboa Island, a harborside community accessible via bridge or ferry. The paved concrete boardwalk will lead you and your family through a collection of shops and eateries for a memorable seaside afternoon. The nearby Newport Beach is also worthy of an afternoon of hiking and biking.

Set on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, Marriott’s Newport Coast Villas balance recreation and relaxation. Spacious accommodations offer room for the whole family, complete with the comforts of home, like full kitchens and furnished balconies. From pools to bike rentals and nearby destinations, this Newport Coast resort is the perfect fall getaway.
